Carlyn is a native Minnesotan from St. Louis Park, a Minneapolis suburb, while John is a transplant from Indiana. Both of us enjoyed wonderful, stable family environments, had many friends, and did well academically, graduating near the top our large high school classes. Carlyn earned a B.A. in Child Psychology and Dental Hygiene from the University of Minnesota and was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.John graduated with honors from Purdue with a B.A. in Industrial Management.
As a youth, he loved fishing vacations in Minnesota with his family, so he made up his mind at an early age to live in the “Land of Sky Blue Waters”. He’s glad he did since he met Carlyn while attending graduate school at the University of Minnesota, where he earned a M.S. degree in Finance and Investments. Early in his career he was involved in investment research, portfolio management, and venture capital investing.
John happily joined the ranks of the self-employed as a real estate agent some 35 years ago, and for most of that time Carlyn and he have been partners, working successfully with both buyers and sellers. We have also taught a variety of adult education courses in real estate for more than 16 years, and have spent more than a decade in real estate management. Our in depth knowledge of the Twin Cities real estate market, and our enthusiasm for our wonderful area combine to make the job of buying or selling a home both fruitful and, for the most part, enjoyable. The smarter and more sophisticated the client, the better we work and the more fun we have!Because of our experience on various arts boards (we love opera and live theatre), we have become “REALTORS TO THE ARTS’ COMMUNITY” and count many actors, playwrights, and other artistic types among our enthusiastic clients. We have also been active leaders in our church over the years.
Our other interests include gardening and small town travel throughout the Upper Midwest, especially to art and craft fairs and ethnic celebrations of all types. We have lived in the Kenwood neighborhood, near downtown Minneapolis, for more than 40 years, because we love the city lakes and are really urban animals at heart.Our personal and business philosophy is straightforward: we believe that fulfillment in our lives happens each day as we help others attain their worthwhile goals.
